The term “The White City” refers to over 4,000 buildings in Tel Aviv, built in the Bauhaus architecture style, imported by refugee German-Jewish architects who immigrated to Palestine during the Nazi period in Europe.
Because of the predominance of Bauhaus architecture, the White City was named a World Cultural Heritage Site by UNESCO. The Society for the Preservation of Israel Heritage Sites took this theme for “White Night Tel-Aviv”, an annual night-long festival of cultural events
